Q: Do I have to pay for the entire amount up front for the process in order to obtain the Guard Card?
A: No, if an individual is short on funds they can do the Powers to Arrest Course one month. The following month they can have their Live Scan done. Finally ,in month three, they can submit their Application to BSIS. Once you start the process, you have one year to complete said process. You will be UNABLE to work as a Security Officer until you complete the process and acquire your "Guard Card". Remember that an individual only needs the Power to Arrest Course, Live Scan and the application processed through BSIS in order to obtain their Guard Card. The process has to be in that order also. Royal Knight Security, Inc. does accept Cash, Check, Visa, Mastercard and Discover, but does not bill individuals for the Courses.
A: Powers to Arrest Course is 8 hours of Training. Within 30 days of employment the individual with a Guard Card must obtain an additional 16 hours of Training. Within 6 months of employment the individual with a Guard Card must obtain another 16 hours of additional Training. After you have completed all required training the individual will have a total of 40 hours.
A: Sorry but each state has their own regulations for Guard Cards. The State of California requires all unregistered individuals go through the Training Courses for the California "Guard Card".
A: Yes. All individuals must go through the Training Courses for the California "Guard Card". The only exemption would be current Peace Officers, which need a California "Guard Card" when working as a Security Officer. (see www.bsis.ca.gov)
